The Fallsway Fountain was designed by Hans K. Schuler in partnership with architect Theodore Wells Pietsch. Schuler was a renowned German-born American sculptor and monument craftsman. He earned the nickname "Baltimore's Monument Maker" due to his creation of numerous monuments throughout the city. For more than two decades, he served as president of the Maryland Institute College of Art. The Battle Monument symbol is prominently displayed on the woman's shield. I will upload a complete image of the monument once the weather warms up. Carved from marble in 1915 by Julius Anderson Photographed between 1920 and 1930
