Fallout 4 Stimpack
youmagine
A Stimpack replica from Fallout 4, meticulously crafted in Blender from scratch. Note that I've recreated the original model's distinctive bent clip on the left arm, but also included a straight version to mirror the right clip. Printing details: I printed this design using PLA on an Ultimaker 2 with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.12mm layers (except for the gauge needle, which was printed with a 0.25mm nozzle and 0.04mm layers). I didn't use supports when printing the gauge, resulting in an unfinished appearance; I recommend using them for a smoother finish. Post-printing finishing process: 1. Smooth out any rough edges with sandpaper. 2. Apply a coat of clear varnish to protect the design. 3. If desired, add additional details such as texture or color with acrylic paint. Assembly instructions: 1. Attach the gauge needle to the test tube using a small amount of epoxy. 2. Insert the test tube into the barrel, making sure it's seated properly. 3. Screw the barrel into the gauge, ensuring a secure fit. 4. Add any final details, such as wires or labels, according to your preference. Label creation: 1. Print out a label sheet and cover the back with two coats of Mod Podge. 2. Cut out the desired label shape using scissors or a craft knife. 3. Apply spray adhesive to the back of the label and attach it to the gauge. Wiring: 1. Wrap one end of each wire through the slots on the top of the "tabs". 2. Glue the other end into the holes at the top of the gauge. Test tube modification: 1. Cut a test tube to 80mm using a diamond bead reamer and Tamiya masking tape. 2. Fill the remaining tube with red calligraphy ink, leaving about a centimeter of space at the top. 3. Press in the rubber stopper as far as it will go, then cut off the remainder with an X-Acto knife. Final assembly: 1. Insert the test tube into the barrel, rounded end away from the gauge end. 2. Press the endcap into place (it's a snug fit). 3. Screw the barrel into the gauge. This Stimpack replica is now complete and ready for display or use in your Fallout 4 collection.
