Fallout 4 Jet Chem

After carefully examining the various Jet props available online, I was disappointed to discover they didn't quite live up to my expectations for an authentic in-game look. Determined to create something more fitting, I decided to model one myself and share it with fellow Fallout enthusiasts. UPDATE 1/30/18: Upon reviewing my own file against the original in-game design, I realized a critical error - the scale was way off. To correct this, I updated the shape of the model, added a bezel around the back button, and increased its size to match the in-game proportions. As some fans preferred the smaller version, I've left it available as well. FalloutJetChemV2 is the original mini version, while FalloutJetChemV4 is the new full-size design. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 10% Notes: When printing, use supports that touch the build plate only. The mouthpiece requires light bridging. A wide brim or raft will be beneficial due to the tall height and narrow base. Post-Printing: Begin by sanding with 80 grit sandpaper, followed by a light coat of filler primer. Sand again with 120 grit, apply a second coat of filler primer, then repeat the process with 320 grit sandpaper. Finish with a light sanding using 400 grit sandpaper and paint as desired. Cap off with some clear. Alternatively, use a chip brush to apply a thin layer of Bondo fiberglass resin. Allow it to dry completely, then sand with 80 grit sandpaper, followed by a decent coat of filler primer. Sand again with 320 grit, paint as desired, and finish with a matte clear coating. For painting, I simply brush on cheap acrylics in multiple coats for the base colors, allowing each layer to dry before moving on. Weathering is achieved by painting spots of rust or thick dirt, blotting most of it off with a moist paper towel, then again with a dry one. Once satisfied with the results, apply a single coat of matte clear spray paint and let it dry. Paint the entire model black, immediately bloting it off as before. Finish with a couple coats of matte clear spray paint. Experimentation is key - everyone has their unique approach to weathering, so don't be afraid to try different techniques until you find one that suits your taste.
