Fallout 4 Bobblehead Collection

Ever wanted to collect every last bobblehead in real life? Well now you can! Collectors rejoice, because it's possible to bring your favorite Fallout 4 characters to life as custom bobbleheads. The process begins with exporting game meshes from Fallout 4, which have been prepped for printing in Netfabb. These files are ready to be scaled, printed, painted, and displayed as unique collectibles. To make the printing process smoother, I've updated the files to allow optional printing of the body and head separately for each model. This feature is already available for Charisma, which helps with overhangs. However, Intelligence and Science wear glasses, while Luck has a top hat, so there are three different head shapes. Agility's head is fused to his body due to the angle of his body and the turn of his head. To print your custom bobbleheads, you'll need an ORDbot printer with Hadron Rafts disabled and Supports enabled at 0.3mm resolution for a 4.6x scaled print. A 40% infill is recommended. Before starting this project, keep in mind that the files are about 16mm tall by default, which is their original size when exported from the game. Most of the heads are lightly attached at the neck, leaving room for you to add a spring or balance pin to create a more authentic bobblehead experience. To achieve larger bobbleheads, you can scale up the designs using different multipliers. For example, a 4.6x scale will result in a Charisma bobblehead that's exactly 75mm tall, while a 6.2x scale will yield a 100mm tall bobblehead. For optimal results, it's recommended to smooth the surfaces of your ABS prints with an acetone bath. This is what I plan to do eventually for my own prints. One note-worthy detail is that Luck's 4-leaf clover is too thin to print accurately, so I've included a file that omits the clover, allowing you to add your own design later. A simple twist-tie and some paper petals will do the trick nicely. To create these custom bobbleheads, I used the following software: Bethesda Archive Extractor and NifSkope. The process involved extracting the bobblehead .nif files with BAE, importing them into NifSkope, exporting .obj files, converting them to .stl files using an online converter, and finally repairing each new .stl file using the Netfabb Cloud tool.
