Fall in Putney, London
myminifactory
This sculpture forms part of a nine-sculpture trail installation situated along the River Thames in Putney, South London. A picturesque 1.5-mile riverside walk featuring parkland and piazzas is dotted with cafes and restaurants. The trail was launched in September 2008 through a collaborative effort between Putney Town Centre Partnership and Wandsworth Council. Here, you will find an extensive body of work by sculptor Alan Thornhill, whose extensive experience with clay transitioned from pottery to sculpture over time. His innovative methods enable the elimination of the sculptural armature, allowing for improvisation, while his portraiture challenges conventional notions of normality through meticulous observation. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe accessible to the public for free. Scan The World is an open-source community effort; if you have interesting items nearby and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate in this endeavor.
