I came home for Super Bowl, still trying to convince my father that spending $3000 on an Ultimaker 2 was worth it. A year ago, I made this purchase, and he's remained skeptical ever since. So, I decided to surprise him with a unique gift - fancy coins! First, I found an excellent design on thingiverse.com (43424) and converted it into a vector file, then added a squished cylinder underneath to create the coin shape. To make it even more impressive, I inserted pauses during printing to change filament colors and add extra flair. To help you understand how I achieved this effect, I've included a .gcode file with settings for changing filament color at specific points in the print process. Please note that you should not use this file directly on your printer unless you have an Ultimaker 2 and are printing with PLA filament. The settings may cause damage to your printer due to differences in build plate size, layer height, and other factors. Here are the print settings I used: * Printer Brand: Ultimaker * Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.1mm * Infill: 100% If you're printing at a layer height of 0.1mm, the filament color changes as follows: * Layers 0-20: White * Layers 20-37: Red * Remaining layers: Black After printing, share these coins with your friends and family, and let's go Falcons!
