The DC connector's outer pad is connected to the GND of the WeMos and the GND of the RGB LED ring. The signal pad of the RGB LED ring is connected to the D4 pin of the WeMos. The Arduino code requires the lib Adafruit_NeoPixel (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NeoPixel). Thanks to the original designer of the rocket, this design is really cool.
