Featuring an overhauled version from 2016, the Fairchild F-27 model boasts enhanced geometry, novel textures, and additional features. Meticulously crafted near to scale with exceptional external detailing, this model comes with fully textured materials for the displayed livery. It offers a range of animateable features such as ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Available in multiple file formats, this model is based on the Fokker F-27 twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger airliner. Designed by Fokker in 1950, it made its maiden flight in 1955 and was manufactured under license by Fairchild Hiller in the US. The prototype experienced tail heaviness, leading to fuselage extension and additional seating capacity. West Coast Airlines first operated a Fairchild F-27 in September 1958, with numerous other operators following suit. These aircraft served as frontline airliners for small carriers, demonstrating exceptional performance. Retirement of the Fairchild F-27s commenced in the 1980s; however, some continue to operate today. The F-27's legacy includes the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227 and further advancements like the Fokker F-50 and F-60 series.
