This rebuilt Fairchild F-27 model, dated 2016, boasts enhanced geometry, new textures, and features. It is constructed near to scale with meticulous detailing externally. The model includes fully textured materials for the livery displayed in the profile. Animated features consist of ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Multiple format files are included with these models. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of the Fokker F-27 twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger aircraft designed in 1950 and had its maiden flight in 1955. Produced by Fairchild Hiller under license from Fokker, this model was initially tail-heavy, necessitating a fuselage extension of three feet to rebalance the center of gravity. The first operational F-27 entered service with West Coast Airlines in September 1958 and served various operators before being gradually retired from the 1980s onwards; some are still operational today. The F-27's success led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, an extended version, and the Fokker F-50 and F-60s, further design derivatives of the original F-27.
