A rebuilt Fairchild F-27 model, updated in 2016, features enhanced geometry, new textures, and extra functions. This near-scale aircraft boasts intricate details externally and includes materials for the depicted livery. Aerodynamic elements like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and doors are animatable. Multiple file formats accompany the model. Originating from Fokker's 1950 design, the Fairchild F-27 was produced under license in the U.S., with its prototype experiencing minor tail-heaviness. A fuselage extension addressed this issue and increased seating capacity. West Coast Airlines first operated a Fairchild F-27 in September 1958, with many other operators following suit. This aircraft served as a vital workhorse for small airlines before being gradually retired from the late '80s onwards; some still fly today. The F-27's legacy led to the development of Fairchild Hiller 227, and further designs included the Fokker F-50 and F-60.
