Animateable elements comprise ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and doors. Multiple format files accompany these models. Introduced in 1950 by Fokker, the Fairchild F-27 is a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger aircraft. Its maiden flight took place in 1955. Fairchild Hiller Companies in the U.S., under Fokker's license, produced it using the F-27 design. The initial prototype experienced slight tail heaviness, which led to a fuselage stretch by three feet for better weight distribution and additional seating capacity. West Coast Airlines operated the first Fairchild F-27 in September 1958, with various operators utilizing these aircraft over time. They excelled as frontline airliners for small carriers. Retirement of these planes began in the 1980s; some continue service today. The F-27 paved the way for the development of Fairchild Hiller 227, a stretched version, and further design evolutions included Fokker F-50 and F-60s.
