Rebuilt in 2016, the Fairchild F-27 model showcased here boasts enhanced features such as improved geometry, new textures, and added details. Nearly to scale, this highly detailed aircraft includes animateable components like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Multiple format files accompany the model. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of Fokker's F-27 twin-engine turbo-prop commercial airliner, designed in 1950 and debuted in 1955. Produced under license by Fairchild Hiller in the US, the prototype experienced tail-heavy issues, which led to fuselage extension and additional seating capacity. West Coast Airlines received the first F-27 in operational service in September 1958. The F-27 served numerous operators, with some still in use today. Retirements began in the 1980s. The F-27 inspired the Fairchild Hiller 227 and Fokker's F-50 and F-60 derivatives.
