Experience aviation in full detail with our meticulously rebuilt Fairchild F-27 model, unveiled in 2016 boasting advanced geometry, textures, and features. Constructed near to scale for utmost realism, this aircraft is fully textured and equipped with animateable features such as ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Originating from Fokker's 1950 design, the Fairchild F-27 took its maiden flight in 1955 under the license of Fairchild Hiller Companies in the US. The prototype experienced tail heaviness which led to a fuselage extension by 3 feet and an additional seating capacity. West Coast Airlines was the first operator of this model, commencing service in September 1958. Operated across various airlines globally, these aircraft were lauded for their performance as front line airliners, particularly for smaller carriers. Although some F-27 models have been phased out since the 1980s, many are still in service today. The F-27's success led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, a stretched version, and subsequent design advancements including the Fokker F-50 and F-60 series.
