The revamped Fairchild F-27 model, rebuilt in 2016, boasts enhanced geometry, new textures, and features. Nearly scale in general dimensions, it's rich in external detail. The model includes materials for the displayed livery and is equipped with animatable features like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Several format files accompany these models. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of Fokker's F-27 twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger aircraft, which first flew in 1955. Designed by Fokker in 1950, the production rights were licensed to Fairchild Hiller in the United States. The prototype was redesigned due to tail-heaviness, resulting in a stretched fuselage and increased seating capacity. A Fairchild F-27 entered service with West Coast Airlines in September 1958, serving various operators over time. These aircraft performed exceptionally well as frontline airliners for small carriers before their gradual retirement starting in the 1980s; some are still operational today. The F-27's legacy led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, an extended version, and later, design advancements like the Fokker F-50 and F-60 from the F-27 lineage.
