This newly rebuilt Fairchild F-27 model, from 2016, boasts higher quality geometry, all new textures, and additional features. It adheres closely to scale dimensions and offers an impressive level of detail externally. The model comes with materials for the featured livery and is fully animated, featuring ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Various file formats are included. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of the Fokker F-27, a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger aircraft designed in 1950 and making its maiden flight in 1955. Licensed for production by Fairchild Hiller in the U.S., it extended the original F-27 design. The prototype was slightly tail-heavy, prompting a fuselage extension that increased capacity and improved balance. A Fairchild F-27 served as the first of the F-27 series to enter operational service with West Coast Airlines in September 1958. Operated by numerous carriers, these aircraft excelled as frontline airliners for small airlines. Retirement began in the 1980s; some are still in use today. The Fairchild F-27 led to the development of the Hiller 227 and later, the Fokker F-50 and F-60 series.
