Introducing an updated Fairchild F-27 model, meticulously rebuilt in 2016 with advanced geometry, new textures, and features. Constructed near scale dimensions, this detailed model boasts animatable parts such as ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and doors. Compatible with various formats, the model showcases realistic materials for depicted livery. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of the Fokker F-27, a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial airliner developed in 1950 and first flown in 1955. The Fokker design was licensed to Fairchild Hiller in the US for production. Originally tail-heavy, the prototype underwent redesign, extending the fuselage by three feet and increasing seating capacity. West Coast Airlines received the first operational F-27 in September 1958, with many operators utilizing these aircraft. Serving as frontline airliners for small carriers, the F-27s demonstrated exceptional performance. Retirement of these workhorses began in the 1980s; however, some remain operational to this day. The F-27's legacy continued with the development of Fairchild Hiller 227, a stretched version, and further design evolutions like the Fokker F-50 and F-60.
