Various format files are included. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of the Fokker F-27, a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger aircraft designed in 1950 and flying for the first time in 1955. The F-27 prototype had slight tail-heaviness, which led to fuselage stretching by three feet and an additional three seats. West Coast Airlines received the first operational Fairchild F-27 in September 1958. This versatile aircraft served numerous operators and performed exceptionally well. Retirements began in the 1980s, although some still operate today. The F-27's legacy includes the Fairchild Hiller 227, a stretched version, as well as Fokker F-50 and F-60 derivatives.
