This revamped Fairchild F-27 model, available for your use, underwent a complete reconstruction in 2016, featuring enhanced geometry, brand new textures, and added features. The model is constructed almost to scale, with meticulous attention to detail externally, and comes equipped with materials for the depicted livery. An array of animatable features includes ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. This aircraft, a version of Fokker's F-27 twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger airliner, was initially designed in 1950 and made its maiden flight in 1955. It was produced under license by Fairchild Hiller in the US using Fokker's F-27 design. The prototype faced tail-heavy issues, which led to a redesign that stretched the fuselage, adding three feet forward of the center of gravity and increasing seating capacity by three. West Coast Airlines became the first operator to deploy this aircraft in September 1958. The Fairchild F-27 served various operators and performed exceptionally well as frontline airliners for small carriers. Retirement of these planes began in the 1980s, with some still in service today. The F-27's legacy led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, an extended version, and further design advancements included the Fokker F-50 and F-60s.
