This revamped Fairchild F-27 model, available for download, boasts higher quality geometry and all-new textures since its 2016 rebuild. Displaying near scale dimensions and intricate detailing, these models come with materials for the depicted livery. Featuring animateable parts like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and doors, they are offered in various file formats. The Fairchild F-27 is a variant of Fokker's F-27 twin-engine turboprop commercial airliner, designed in 1950 and first flown in 1955. Under license from Fokker, the Fairchild Hiller companies in the US produced this model. The prototype faced tail-heaviness, which led to fuselage extension, adding three feet to its length and extra seating capacity. West Coast Airlines received the first operational F-27 in September 1958, followed by diverse operators. These workhorses of small airlines performed exceptionally well. Retirement began in the 1980s; some still serve today. The F-27 gave rise to the Fairchild Hiller 227 and further evolved into Fokker's F-50 and F-60 models.
