Fair dice with square pips
thingiverse
This is a precision-crafted dice engineered to guarantee fairness and balance. Every pips recessed value indicator has been meticulously designed with identical side volume, ensuring that sides with six pips have precisely the same void volume as those with only one pip. The mathematical formula used for each single pip edge on a single side was: Edge = (sqrt((#factor^2)/(#pip_count))mm where the #factor is applied to scale the pip dimensions aesthetically, and the #pip_count is the number of pips on that specific side. A big thank you goes out to Johnny for developing this formula. I know some details may seem unclear, but that's what makes it exciting! The best part is that you can print this design directly in your resin printer without needing support material. In fact, printing two dice at once will take the same amount of time. Give it a try! If my work has been helpful to you, I'd be thrilled to see your creations - so please don't hesitate to share them with me! Alternatively, if you feel generous, consider sending a bitcoin or two to: 1Py3TUeR8noBN2giHyFV1GfB6x3Kh2WEVv Include a note saying something like "Hi 3E8, thanks for the fair dice thing... my life has improved significantly on account of it and please accept this small amount in gratitude". You're welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing your projects. Also, feel free to browse through my other designs, which are just as varied as they are numerous: http://www.thingiverse.com/3E8/designs Enjoy! April 5, 2020 update: A new dice design has been added with a support plate, allowing it to hang in a resin printer. This change should help minimize extra resin interference from plate calibration issues.
