Traditionally, Chinese people write New Year wishes on red pieces of paper that are posted on walls and doors, known as Fai-Chun's. Here are some Chinese New Year wishes printed during CNY 2017. They can be used every year. Most were created using the Chinese Calligraphy Editor at http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/calligraphy.html. A few were written by my wife and scanned into a digital format. 3D Builder was used to turn them into three-dimensional models. The red background is 0.5 mm thick (0.3 + 0.2) and the black words are 0.4 mm thick, making both layers 2 thicknesses deep. Note that the printer software fixes the first layer thickness at 0.3 mm. They were printed using a dual-material printer. If one uses a single material printer, they may need to increase the thickness for printing the words. The display was built by my wife using an empty filament reel from Robox's Smart-reel and a Pringles chip cylindrical carton wrapped with a nice-looking cloth. See one of the photos. I think she did a great job creating a MacGyver-style piece of work. Print Settings: Printer Brand: CEL Printer: CEL Robox Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 100% Notes: The Robox Dual printer was used, and the thickness of the words and base was kept to a minimum so that each part could be printed in two layers.
