Avebury Down 2017 Trench-3 - textured excavation unfolded with surprising results. A deliberate hollow was unearthed, its edges neatly cut as if someone's coat had been hastily discarded within. Beneath this artificial cavity lay a pit and a substantial post-hole, hinting at the presence of ancient structures. Further post-holes remained unexplored due to time constraints, leaving room for future investigation. The excavated pit and post-hole were meticulously sealed by a deliberate layer of bone deposits, including those from aurochs, alongside Grooved Ware pottery - a clear indication of late Neolithic activity.
