When you're short on hands, an extra hand inserter won't let you down. I used M3 screws for the joints and melted an M3 nut into the base, but I included regular glue in the base connector. It doesn't have to be M3 as long as it's less than 5mm in diameter - not the head, but the threaded part. I glued a little bit of non-slip shelf liner into the jaws so it can hold things better.
