2020-03-30 Heard rumors online that visor with closed top provides better protection against aerosols. Face shields do not offer 100% protection against tiny particles that can also enter from the sides. Unfortunately, a closed top reduces flexibility, which in turn reduces comfort. Version 3 aims to be both comfortable and provide some protection from falling droplets/aerosols. 2020-03-27 Uploaded version 2 adjusted for Swedish standards regarding holes in paper. Recommend printing in vase mode with two layers at the bottom. Delivered first batch of 100 to the hospital in Uppsala today. They were happy. 2020-03-20 Version 2 is now uploaded and available. Redesigned length and changed the vertical stabilizer to a spring for better flexibility, increasing comfort when worn for extended periods. A drawback with version 2 is that you can only fit one print on a Prusa-sized bed (250x210mm). 2020-03-20 Just received feedback from medical professionals; the shield is too close to the face. Will update the design shortly and add a new version number to the STL file. This remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4159366 is optimized for print time (about 22 minutes with a 0.35 layer height). A side benefit is flexibility in the frame, increasing comfort when worn. You don't need rubber bands anymore; you can just use a string or whatever. Also added a loop, so the string won't fall off.
