Facemask sculpture scan - Xbox Kinect
thingiverse
Tonight's mission - fire up the old Kinect 360 and connect it to the laptop. This model marks the first attempt at scanning to fine-tune the setup using Kscan3D. Tutorial followed here: https://youtu.be/yXZRvrnQ51w. Also, my first play with Meshmixer and Sculptor involved cleaning up the original scanned model. Two models are attached, one after smoothing, the other with a crease added to define the chin resting on hand. Lessons learned: when they say use nice even lighting, I assume the loss of detail in the scan is due to the single incandescent room light used for the test. Also, there's much to learn about meshmixer.
