Face Shield with Pegs
thingiverse
This face shield utilizes comfort and reusability to secure the acetate firmly in place on the face shield. Its design caters mainly to larger heads but includes hooks at the leg portions of the face shield, allowing easy adjustments with a rubber band to lock it securely. To create this face shield, several essential materials are required: * A hole puncher or soldering iron for creating holes * Loom bands or small rubber bands to secure the acetate (four bands per shield) * A larger rubber band to secure those with smaller heads * Seven millimeter thick rubber matting The rubber matting is also alcohol safe, allowing it to be reused and sanitized properly after use. This contrasts with traditional foam, which cannot be cleaned effectively. If loom bands are unavailable and you reside in the Philippines, Sanrio packs can be purchased at 7-Eleven stores for twenty pesos per pack. Photos demonstrating how to install rubber bands on the face shield have been posted below to secure the acetate firmly in place. The thickness of the rubber matting can vary between one inch or half an inch; however, it is highly recommended to use half an inch to increase production efficiency. Loom bands or small rubber bands significantly reduce the tedious task of slicing the acetate and fitting it into pegs. With this design, simply punch a hole, insert the acetate, and secure it with reusable bands for the next installation.
