Face Shield - Minimal Assembly - COVID-19
thingiverse
There are a lot of fantastic face shields being created by the community to support our courageous COVID-19 medical heroes and essential workers. I noticed that most require several steps and tools to assemble, which can be a hassle. I wanted to design an incredibly comfortable visor with fewer steps, minimal assembly time, and no tools other than the components themselves. This shield uses its own tension to keep the transparent sheet securely in place; all you need to do is slide the sheet into the center opening and insert the shim. You can adjust it vertically if you want more protection in either direction. It works seamlessly with letter-sized sheets, which can be inserted in either orientation. Rubber/elastic bands are the only other things you need, unless you choose to trim the corners. 4/5/2020 Update: A new version has been added that is remarkably lighter weight, incredibly flexible, prints much faster, and features an optional top cover. 4/28/2020 Update: A slightly updated version of the V2 frame has been introduced, with thickened arms and notches to hold elastic bands more securely. (V2.5)
