Face Shield - Minimal Assembly - COVID-19

cults3d

There are a lot of awesome face shields being created by the community to help our COVID-19 medical heroes and essential workers. I noticed that most require multiple steps and tools to fully assemble. I wanted to design a super comfortable visor with fewer steps, minimal assembly time, and no tools other than the components being used. This shield uses its own tension to keep the transparent sheet in place; so all you need to do is slide the sheet in the center opening and insert the shim. It can be adjusted vertically if you want more protection in either direction. It works with letter-sized sheets and they can be inserted in either orientation. Rubber/elastic bands are the only other thing you need, unless you want to trim the corners. 4/5/2020 Update: New version added that is lighter weight, more flexible, prints much faster, and has an optional top cover. 4/28/2020 Update: Slightly updated version of the frame, with thickened arms and notches to hold elastic bands more securely. (V2.5)
