Face shield / mask
thingiverse
This is a model of COVID-19 face shield designed specifically for medical staff. The pack includes two versions to cater to different needs. Version 1, v2R2, is an improved version of the Prusa Protective Face Shield RC2 available on prusaprinters.org/prints/25857-prusa-protective-face-shield-rc2. In this model, the lower part, face shield, and rubber band are identical to the original Prusa project. However, the headband has been improved for faster and simpler printing on various materials. Recommended settings include a 0.3mm layer thickness, three shells, 30% infill, no support or raft, and a velocity of 75 mm/s. Version 2, v2R11, is a brand new design developed after consulting with doctors. It's the eleventh and final iteration, offering a slim and fast face shield that provides better protection and comfort during use. The design includes a wider and shorter frame for improved protection and added ease of use. A foam bar can be applied to the wearer's forehead for enhanced comfort (see photos). This version is manufactured in less than two hours using a 2-piece stack, and it comes with PDF/DXF files for cutting out the foam and plexy parts. The rubber band from the original Prusa project remains applicable. Assembly follows the instructions provided by Prusa, and you should disinfect the foam before use. The lower part is not required; simply remove any sharp edges. Printing parameters for both versions include: - 0.3mm layer thickness - No infill (0%) - Three top and bottom layers - Three outlines (shells) - No support You can stack these face shields for better efficiency. If stacking, generate supports in your slicer or use the second STL file with built-in support. The gap between elements should be experimentally determined based on machine type and filament brand. Start with a 0.15mm gap. Print the first layer of each subsequent piece slowly (30 mm/s) to ensure proper connection at arcs. One piece takes approximately one hour to print.
