Hello, I'm glad you're interested in making your own face shield. This is a simplified version of the original design, minus an A4 sheet of clear plastic and some elastic or string. I've re-drawn it below. I downloaded this design from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4241448 so attribution goes to them for creating it in the first place. I simply redrew it from scratch. If you're looking for more details on face shields like this, there are plenty of resources available online. Filabot has a blog post on their website that features a similar visor and ventilator splitter design, which is worth checking out. You can also try searching Google for 3D printed COVID mask-related stuff - there's a lot out there. Print notes: As-is where-is. Use at your own risk. I've filled in the small holes on the forehead area to make it more suitable for common type printers. I find that these areas tend to weaken prints, cause them to flow poorly and slow down the printing process. By filling them in, you'll be less likely to get edge scratches on the forehead. I'm using my Makerbot Replicator to print this design - it's a great machine. I've set the factors to "high speed settings" and used 3 shells with no infill. You can adjust these settings as needed - for example, you might choose to use 20% infill and 3 shells. The dimensions of this face shield are approximately 200mm by 150mm (or a bit less), which fits perfectly on my Makerbot Replicator build plate. The build plate is a common size, so it should work well with most printers. It's about 20mm high and 2mm thick. I'm using Magnetic surface with Builders Tape for this print today. My extruder temperature is set to 210 PLA. After printing, I did some minor clean-up by scratching off the plastic A4 sheet that I used in my case (it was just a cover off a clear file). I then used string and my soldering iron to poke holes in the plastic, and assembled it in less than a minute. The print took about an hour and a half, give or take a few minutes - I was working on another project at the same time. It seems to work fine so far, but you might want to add a spot of glue or tape for extra security. If you have a smaller file that's under 10mb, consider uploading it to Thingiverse and posting a link in my comments section. That's all for now - take care!
