Face Shield - Laser or 3D printable (COVID-19, coronavirus)
thingiverse
This modification of a face shield was inspired by an online design found at www.3dverkstand.se/protective-visor. After working with the original files, I made some adjustments to facilitate laser cutting the plastic shield with square openings instead, as well as lengthening the tabs on the outside corners of the 3D object. These face shields have been printing out in large quantities and distributed freely within my community in Poway, California. I am eager to share the modified files with others who possess a laser cutter, enabling them to create these protective visors without any further modifications. The transparent plastic shield is constructed from inexpensive transparency film measuring 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Visor_laser_v3.svg is a single file designed specifically for laser cutting. Visor_laser_v3-5x.svg showcases a layout containing five individual visors that can be easily cut out using a laser cutter. Flattened_Mask.stl represents the 3D printable design of the face shield. Visor_Laser_mask_square_holes_v2.svg provides a layout for precision cutting the plastic visor with square openings.
