A face shield frame designed for 3D printing, assembled to create a protective face shield. The finished product can be worn by healthcare professionals to safeguard against splatters of bodily fluids. This original design achieves maximum weight reduction while maintaining a secure hold on most thin transparency films, ensuring they remain stable and steady when in use. Please note that this design has not undergone clinical testing; its use is at your own risk. The design requires only 8g of PLA to produce. Primary requirements include: Protecting the user's face from splatters originating from the front Ensuring comfort during wear Making it disposable Secondary requirements are: Minimizing weight Achieving fast production speeds Reducing part count Designing a robust framework that accommodates multiple elastic band loops for secure head attachment Easily cleaning the design if reusability is desired Bill of materials: 1. 3D printed frame (this) 2. Elastic band 3. Transparency film (8 1/2" x 11") Assembly steps: Print the visor Attach an elastic band using one of two provided methods Method 1: Cut a 30" long, 1/4" wide elastic band and thread it through oval loops on the model Method 2: Cut 12-14" lengths (depending on head size) from 1/2" or 3/4" wide woven elastic band, making two cuts along its length. Begin each cut 1" from the end and create a 1/2" lengthwise slit Put on the face shield and enjoy safe wear
