The LATEST revision of face shields in two piece and one piece designs are now available at Face Shield For SMALL 3D Printers. A ONE PIECE DESIGN IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WITH LARGER 3D PRINTERS, AND I'VE JUST RELEASED A REVISION THAT REMOVES THE MIDDLE BAR. This adjustment allows the frame to flex more and wrap around the head more freely, providing a more comfortable fit. It also reduces print time and material consumption. Hello, With Covid-19 spreading rapidly every day, local hospitals have reached out to individuals, institutions, and businesses asking if they could 3D print face shields. I saw some very nice designs here in Grabcad but due to the smaller than average build plate of my 3D printers, I had to design the head harness/frame as two pieces, left and right side, so they could fit on the build plate. Once the two halves are printed, they can be fastened together with two stainless steel #6 x 1/2" long sheet metal screws. I chose stainless because it's commonly used in hospitals and clinics. The shield itself is made of 5 mill transparency film. Note, I used a standard 3 hole punch for the outside corners. I then mounted the film to the frame of the face shield and marked the two mount tabs in the center. I then used this completed transparency as a template for additional film.
