The MELTICA team has designed a revolutionary face shield with cutting-edge protection features. By leveraging their expertise in additive manufacturing, they created a face shield comprising elements produced on 3D printers. This innovative solution boasts a lightweight construction, enables rapid production, and facilitates effortless self-assembly. Any material suitable for FDM and FFF technologies can be used to manufacture the proposed design. The universal helmet components allow compatibility with any 3D printer that employs additive manufacturing techniques. The helmet elements are engineered to be printed in under 20 minutes using 3D printing technology. The face shield can be crafted from various transparent materials, such as PET, PC, or PVC, with a thickness ranging from 0.2 to 0.6 mm. It takes approximately one minute to assemble a complete helmet by yourself. This solution maximizes the potential of 3D printers, enabling the production of over 70 visor elements per day using filament. Anyone possessing a 3D printer can download the design file and create their own protective face shield.
