Face Shield by TXRX Labs
thingiverse
Background: This design draws inspiration from a Mechatronics Engineer in Nuevo León, Mexico named Gizéh Adrián Triana Cárdenas (https://grabcad.com/library/coronavirus-flu-reusable-mask-1) who originally created the design and Prusa Research in the Czech Republic (https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/25857-prusa-protective-face-shield-rc2) further modified it. The updated version is being produced by the Czech Ministry of Health. TXRX Labs in Houston, Texas, has also made significant modifications to this design and is producing it with a network of volunteer printers for Memorial Hermann hospitals and other medical centers in the Texas Medical Center. TXRX_C19_Shield_Upper_rev2_pads.stl is the model file for the upper part of the shield. This part is designed to be printed quickly and easily using PLA at 0.2mm layer height with no support material needed. The thin sections are intended to be two extrusion widths wide, ensuring a strong bond when fused together during printing. Four small circular pads have been added to help keep the part securely attached to the printer bed while printing. TXRX_C19_Shield_Lower_rev2.stl is an optional stiffener for the bottom of the shield. This model can be printed simultaneously with the upper section using PLA and requires no special techniques or support material.
