I design splash guard face shields with brims, crafted to donate to local hospitals struggling with PPE shortages. I utilize chemical-resistant clear plastic, just 0.02 inches thick, which offers excellent protection. To attach the shields, I make precise holes using a standard three-ring binder punch and secure them with elastic cord for a comfortable headband fit. You can also enhance comfort by adding adhesive-backed closed-cell foam cushions. As an alternative option, I've been experimenting with overhead transparencies, which are thinner but could become a viable disposable solution if material scarcity becomes severe.
