Face mask snuba/hookah adaptor for air compressor

A little background: "Hookah diving", sometimes called "snuba", is when you use an air hose instead of a tank and stay close to the surface. A lot of DIY rigs have become popular for cleaning boat bottoms or reef diving using typical oil-free air compressors. It's also sometimes called "kayak diving" if you use a scuba tank like an air compressor and leave it on the kayak. The regulators (2nd stage, i.e the mouthpieces) use much lower pressures than SCUBA and are inexpensive. This idea takes it a step further and interfaces a cheap full-face mask to take the place of a regulator! The masks have several check valves so they are basically cheap regulators already. It works great and its super fun, but with that much air attached you will need some dive weights to get below the surface. The mask I used was the cheapest one on Amazon at $16: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0859S6C9G/ The snorkel has a twist lock that I duplicated. It might work with some other generic brands. A standard 1/4" NPT air compressor quick-release attachment is then threaded into the hole in the cap. Heat the inside of the hole with a lighter for a few seconds and use pliers to twist it in. You can get away with much less but what I've read on diving websites is don't go below 3 SCFM airflow since you need at least 30 psi in a pool or shallow waters and double that if you go near 30'. If you are going below 30' then you shouldn't be doing this with cheapo DIY equipment. You're going to want an in-line filter.
