Face Mask Mold Kit
thingiverse
Two piece, top and bottom design for fabric masks is now available in a new version that fixes the thin walls of the 'shell' piece. This improved version features some open space as shown by the cutaway view. However, it's possible that Makeprintable may still need to tweak this aspect further. When fused together, two of these pieces create a single mask, which is why the file size is 6mb. Using two layers of ZEP shop towels as filters has proven to be highly effective in terms of particle filtration. Adding masking tape around the perimeter can also help keep the fabric's shape intact. To achieve optimal results, it's recommended to print the shell piece with a fine layer height. For those who speak Italian, lasagna or noodles might serve as an interesting material for creating face mask molds. Ultimately, making masks should be a priority for everyone. This design offers more nose room compared to its predecessor, which may make it more suitable for individuals with narrower noses. However, there's still no feedback or printed results yet. In the meantime, I did manage to print the bottom mold, and while it turned out a bit small, it could potentially work well for children.
