Face Mask Fasteners
thingiverse
I needed fasteners to secure the COVID-19 mask from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4225667 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4248104, as well as a retainer to keep the face mask securely in place. These clips do an excellent job of holding things together. I printed them in PETG to take advantage of its limited flexibility and high strength. Now I can use different materials for straps like nylon cord, elastic strap, or nylon straps. The harness can be made with either PETG or TPU. PETG is a better choice, much like the ones used on 3M respirators for automotive painting. The TPU is more flexible for comfort during long-term wear. I recently uploaded an improved version of the fasteners that should import to the bed without needing to re-orient the print. Here are my printer settings for my Ender 3 and ANET ET4: For PETG: - Hotend: 245 C for the first layer, 240 C for the rest - Bed: 60 C - Speed: 50 mm/sec - Fan: 0 for the first layer, 80% for the rest - Layer Height: .15 or use adaptive layers in CURA For TPU: - Hotend: 230 C - Bed: 60 C - Speed: 30 mm/sec - Fan: 0 for the first layer, 80% for the rest - Retraction: 2 mm - Coasting: Enabled - Layer Height: .20 or use adaptive layers in CURA
