Face Mask Extension Band
thingiverse
I created an extension band for my face mask to alleviate stress on my ears from wearing it all day while in semi-quarantine. Every time I need to go out on a supply run, I have to restart my 14-day period. I uploaded six files now: four initial ones and two additional updates. Two of the files measure 20 cm long, perfect for people with larger heads like mine - one has a band that's 2 mm thick and the other is 1.6 mm thick. The other two files are 16 cm long for those with smaller heads; one features a 2 mm thick band while the other has a 1.6 mm thick band. I printed the thicker band for myself using my soft TPU filament, but I believe the thinner band would work just as well. The thinner band requires less filament usage, making it an attractive option. To print the extension bands effectively, lie down and use supports to stabilize the hooks. UPDATE: I added two more files - both 18 cm long with larger holes in the middle to minimize filament usage. As before, one file features a 2 mm thick band while the other has a 1.6 mm thick band. I think this length will fit more people's heads comfortably.
