A wide ear protector designed specifically for use with masks featuring elastic earbands is a simple yet highly effective solution. After being tasked with producing 500 units for my company, I quickly realized that many of the existing ear protectors on the market have a narrow design, leaving vulnerable areas on the ears prone to rubbing and potential sores. To address this issue, I designed an ear protector with a wider profile that allows the elastic to spread out and come into contact-free contact with the ears. The ear protector is intended for use higher up on the head, rather than lower down near the neck, where it can easily slip off. A thoughtful design feature includes a gap in the protector that accommodates ponytails, ensuring a comfortable fit for users with long hair. In my experience, adjustable settings are not a necessary feature, as ideally, you want to position the hooks at their lowest point possible to minimize tightness. I found no benefit in having tighter hooks, and this design decision eliminates any potential drawbacks. If you have feedback or suggestions, please share them with me. I'm open to adding more length options or even incorporating small pin holes to differentiate between sizes, making it easier to print various sizes if needed.
