Face framed drawer slide jig
thingiverse
I created this custom drawer slide jig since I couldn't find one that would work well with my face frame cabinets. My drawer slides are a half inch wide and 1 3/4 inches tall, measuring 22 inches in length but that's not important. There is a groove on the jig to hold the slide in place. Simply insert it and clamp the jig onto the face frame. The hood will keep the rail from tipping over if it's really long. Next, screw in the brackets (if you're using them) and then the slide itself. Make sure everything is plumb and level - or at least perpendicular to your cabinet face. Once that's done, swap sides and repeat the process and you'll be making quick work of your project! I'm completely overhauling my kitchen one piece at a time. This month's task was to replace those awful drawer rollers with ball-bearing soft-close slides. After doing the first couple using just eyeballing it, then switching to a level and tape measure, I realized that method was quite cumbersome and time-consuming. But with this jig, I cut my time in half.
