The imposing facade of Svete Stosije cathedral towers above the bustling streets of old Zadar, Croatia's historic heart. Dubbed St. Anastasia's Cathedral, this majestic edifice boasts a rich history dating back to the 14th century. Despite the throngs of tourists on the left, who neither stopped nor remained stationary, their vibrant energy only adds to the scene's dynamic charm. According to Zadar Tourist Board, the facade's lower section, completed in 1324, is characterized by three imposing portals, with the central one proudly topped by a stunning bas-relief depicting the Virgin and Child flanked by Saints Crisogonus and Anastasia. Above, the upper order reaches its apex in a dramatic triangular pediment, adorned with an intricate pattern of Lombard bands.
