The standard cradle included with the FabScanPi kit is woefully inadequate for everyday use, in my humble opinion. The slightest accidental touch requires recalibration from scratch, and any attempt to secure it with glue renders corrections all but impossible. This revised design - a rock-solid creation born from diverse sources - offers a vastly improved construction that can withstand even the most careless mishaps. Its laser height of 12mm is positioned precisely 64mm above the wooden base, providing an identical setup to if the laser were securely fastened directly onto the cradle itself.
