Fabrikator Mini - Spool Holder 1kg Attachment
thingiverse
Update (3/10/2016): I've added a v2 of this attachment to help reduce the amount of filament used, making it easier to remove support material without creating a small cavity like in the original version. This simple attachment for the "Fabrikator Mini (Tiny Boy) Spool Holder by Elproducts" lets you hold larger spools. Initially, I printed the Elproducts spool holder without realizing it wouldn't accommodate larger spools like the ColorFabb (750g) or 3D Solutech (1kg). Instead of discarding a great print, I created this simple attachment to make use of the Fabrikator Mini's excellent printing capabilities. Now, if you need to switch between large and small diameter spools, simply remove this attachment. Be aware that using very large spools can put your printer at risk of toppling over. Heavy Spool Warning: To prevent accidents, I've designed a pair of feet for the back of the printer to stabilize it when handling large spools (1kg). You can find them on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1396469 Print Settings: Printer: Fabrikator Mini v1.5 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% How I Designed This: I opened TinkerCAD and imported the "Fabrikator Mini (Tiny Boy) Spool Holder by Elproducts" STL file. Then, I created a simple cylinder and aligned it with the spool holder at its bottom. Next, I turned the spool holder into a hole and grouped them together. Finally, I added a small lip to prevent the spool from falling off.
