Human: Building Your Own Turtle Robot Learning goals Motivate students to discover, explore, and master the connections between creating a robot and various subjects in the curriculum, such as Mathematics, Physics, Geometry, and more. Uncover the possibilities of 3D Printing applied to building a robot. Coding with Arduino (Electronics) 3D modeling & 3D printing Developing problem-solving skills using creativity and ingenuity. Completing a project from concept to completion. Enhancing teamwork and relationship-building skills beyond individual environments and cultural groups. Time indication This depends on the level of design complexity and code instruction difficulty. With extensive experience in design and programming software, this project can be completed approximately within 4-6 clock hours. Type of education High school/ middle school Education toolbox Which design program do you use? Tinkercad Which other tools and equipment do you need? Logo Programming Project description We are integrating educational technology into our curriculum. As Seymour Papert said, "Nobody really knows what the future will be like, but we know what it won't be." It's time to bring Papert's ideas to every classroom. That's why we're creating our own Turtles. For the history of Turtle Robots: http://roamerrobot.tumblr.com/post/23079345849/the-history-of-turtle-robots We are building these robots with High Schools and using them in Middle Schools. We produce all plastic parts using 3D printers. We also attempt to remix 3D Models by adding sensors to our Turtle Robots. We use logo-programming languages to control Turtle Robots. By using simple commands, students learn to construct geometric shapes and patterns.
