I really liked the original design by chillhaus, but as another remixer noted, the middle peg snapped off immediately. I ended up drilling out the bottom for a screw, which worked, but the screw didn't allow the bin to sit flat. Also, the tape measure my wife has has a rivet on the metal end protector that caused it to crack the inner holder. I addressed these problems by making a counter sunk hole for a #10-24x5/8 flathead screw and increasing the size of the center of the lid to accommodate the thicker end protector. I also rounded off some of the corners that were a bit sharp. The screw just screws directly into the PLA, adjust the tightness as desired to allow the tape to be pulled out and wound back in easily.
