Fabric Skinned Wind Turbine
thingiverse
Wind turbine blades are reimagined with rods as the primary structural component, to which spars are securely attached. Fabric is meticulously applied to the spars via a strong adhesive or rivets, resulting in a lightweight airfoil that efficiently catches the wind. This innovative design should make it relatively easy to spin and maintain. The proposed model utilizes 1/4" rods measuring 18 inches long, but can be scaled up or down to accommodate various sizes. Initial prototypes have been successfully developed with basic hubs, laying the groundwork for future enhancements. As a result, the project remains in its works-in-progress status.
