I recently started developing a starter culture for baking sourdough bread. One essential requirement is having a breathable fabric cover on a glass jar, allowing the culture to thrive. Instead of frequently using rubber bands to secure the cloth, I opted for a glass jar with a spring-loaded lid and designed a new lid from scratch. By utilizing the existing wire spring and a rubber band, I can easily attach the fabric to the top of the custom lid, making it easier to access my starter culture.
