F8L Falco (TRANSFERT IN PROGRESS)
thingiverse
Hello everybody, Introduction: This is an unfinished model of the F8L Falco, an Italian sport plane built from hand-drawn blueprints in plan. As an amateur aircraft builder, I've modeled it with the goal of building it one day. The airframe is nearly complete, with only missing empennage, control surfaces, and skinning left to be added. 3D Printing: To make this model potentially printable, I merged each sub-assembly into larger parts. Then, I reduced the size to 1:10 to fit these parts in standard printers (you may need to reduce them further). As of today, the models are not optimized for 3D printing due to tiny details and very thin skins. I'll solve these issues gradually when I start printing it seriously. Assembly: I suggest you search and download F8L Falco blueprints to understand how the plane is made. You'll be able to recognize distances, sequences between sections, and wing stations. Copyright, License, Commercial Use: The F8L Falco brand and its design belong to Stelio Frati, the engineer who drew it. Since he passed away in 2010, I cannot ask for his permission. As an aeronautical designer, I admire his work and think sharing this model is a great way to honor him. If someone related to Stelio Frati wants me to retire this model, I will comply. However, all the work done on 3D modeling belongs to me. It took near two years to create what you see in every detail. If you want to print and showcase it proudly, that's fine (and thank you for trying). If you want to modify it, feel free to do so but respect the actual license (mention my name, don't sell it, and try to do a good job). If you want to sell it, the answer is no. I don't envision people selling fully built planes when they're available, as it would require too much work for a real profit. However, if your intention is to print parts and sell kits to real enthusiasts, that's okay, but be fair about it. Final.
